🌱🌱 PROMOTE AGROECOLOGY AND SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES IN KIAMBU

📖📖 OVERVIEW

This project focuses on training smallholder farmers in Kiambu, Kenya on sustainable agricultural practices to enhance productivity, conserve natural resources, protect the environment, strengthen climate change resilience, improve market access, and ensure long-term food security.

It is a partnership project between COSDEP and Mlango Farm Foundation, with support from Koppert Foundation.

🎯🎯 OBJECTIVES

  • Participatory Farmer Reflection: Encourage farmers to critically reflect on their current practices and adopt more sustainable, diversified, low-input, and viable alternatives.
  • Capacity Building: Develop a 4-day training program and train 200 small-scale farmers (organized into 10 groups of 20 farmers each) on sustainable agriculture and livestock management.
  • Knowledge Transfer & Networking: Facilitate group work, community-based skill transfer, follow-up support, field exhibitions, and farmer-to-farmer learning networks to ensure sustainability.
